Path to Menzoberranzan
An ambitious community driven mod for Baldur's Gate 3 that adds an entirely new standalone adventure. This story is focused on the bright mercantile city of Athkatla and the dark and perilous nature of the Underdark, far from Baldur's Gate and the tale that we already know.
The journey
In Act I, players will visit Athkatla, shop at iconic places like the Adventurer Mart, and explore the long-abandoned dungeon once occupied by the malicious mage Jon Irenicus as well as many more locations yet to be announced. In Act II the player will begin their journey to the titular location, Menzoberranzan and Act III will feature the drow city itself.

Level Design
Level design team is in charge of creating vibrant, expressive locations and quests within the BG3 toolkit.
- Logical thinking and a good sense of composition.
- Ability to work with visual references. Visual taste and design sensibility.
- Bonus point for experience working with interior/exterior layouts and 3D editors.
- Prior experience designing locations in other editors (e.g. The Sims, Fallout, Skyrim, Minecraft) is a strong plus.
- Stay in touch with your team lead LD and update them on progress.
- Learn the BG3 modding toolkit through our custom tutorials.
Visual Design
Visual design department is in charge of designing, creating, and implementing all original assets into the game.
This can range from new armor sets, to the designs of the companions, to new buildings that need to be created.
We are a robust team of both 2D and 3D artists with a broad range of skills and specializations
2D Art
- Environment Concept Artists - Specifically looking for artists who specialize in photobashed concept art.
- Graphic Designers - Looking for folk who can create new UI elements and icons for new items/spells/etc.
3D Art
- Environment Artists - Artists that have experience creating and constructing environmental assets, especially modular assets.
- Technical Artists - Artists who are intimately familiar with the pipeline of video game asset creation, specialize in optimization for games.
- Animators/Cinematic Artists - Big plus if already familiar with Rokoko.
- Groom/Hair Artist - Artists who specializes in creating hairstyles, especially utilizing hair cards over particle systems.
Programming
Programming team's primary focus is game development and scripting within the modding toolkit.
Type of work and impact an individual can have depends on their capabilities, time to contribute, and ability to learn the toolkit.
- Implement story scripts, develop game mechanics & integrate and refine dialogue systems.
- Work within a game engine toolkit designed for BG3 modding.
- No prior experience required — anyone with a passion for learning is welcome.
- Bonus points for prior experience with game modding, familiarity with version control workflows.
